Tom Cruise Reportedly Has Not Been A Part Of His Daughter Suri’s Life In Years

Tom Cruise is no doubt one of the most well-known actors in Hollywood’s history. However, the “Top Gun: Maverick” star has continued to be a longtime member of Scientology and his ties had played an important role in his separation from his former wife, Katie Holmes, and their daughter, Suri Cruise.

According to recent reports by PageSix, Cruise has not been a part of his daughter Suri’s life in years. Cruise has not been in contact with his daughter for a long time and is not currently involved in her life.

Cruise and Holmes welcomed their daughter Suri in April 2006. However, after the couple’s separation in 2011, the father and daughter became more distant from each other. Transcripts from Tom’s 2012 defamation lawsuit against Bauer Media revealed that he had not seen Suri for three months following his split from Holmes.

“Listen, when there is a divorce … things change,” Cruise told lawyers in 2013. “It’s not an ideal scene. It’s not an ideal situation.”

In the same $50 million lawsuit, Tom Cruise acknowledged in a deposition that his association with Scientology played a significant role in his separation from his daughter. When asked if Katie Holmes left him partly to protect Suri from Scientology, Tom confirmed that this was one of the reasons.

In 2016, Scientology was once again implicated in the strained relationship between Tom Cruise and his daughter Suri. According to reports, the church’s rules prohibited members from associating with non-believers. Since neither Holmes nor Suri were Scientologists, Tom could not have a relationship with them.
