42 Dugg is best known for his collaborations with Lil Baby and Yo Gotti. While he is still relatively new to the rap scene, his ego appears to have gotten him into trouble with the feds on multiple occasions. Now it seems he could face five more years in prison after pleading guilty to another charge.
42 Dugg has recently pleaded guilty to a charge of failure to surrender and is now facing the possibility of an additional five years in prison. This news was first reported by The Detroit News on March 22. According to court documents obtained by XXL on March 23, Dugg and his lawyers changed their plea from not guilty to guilty on February 13.
Under the terms of the plea deal, 42 Dugg could potentially face up to five more years in prison. Following his release, the rapper could get up to three years of supervised release and will need to pay a fine of up to $250,000. However, the court has recommended that Dugg serves only six months in prison as long as he takes responsibility for his actions.
The sentencing hearing for 42 Dugg is scheduled to take place on May 10, where his fate will be determined by the court. The charges stem from Dugg’s arrest in 2020 as part of a federal gun probe, where he was found guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was sentenced to six months in prison, but he failed to report to the facility on April 12, 2022.
Federal agents arrested 42 Dugg in May 2022 after he landed in Detroit on a private plane, charging him with failure to surrender. In a bizarre twist, 42 Dugg claimed to be a sovereign citizen and therefore not subject to federal laws, which he used as an excuse for not reporting. However, the court did not accept this excuse, and Dugg has been in jail ever since, fighting the charge.
