Nicki Minaj worked tirelessly to establish herself as one of the most accomplished female rappers in the hip-hop industry. Through years of dedication and hard work, she achieved her goal and became a success. That said, her dedicated fanbase called ‘Barbz’ is known to be quite toxic on social media. Minaj is aware of this fact, as she recently urged her fans not to threaten people online on her behalf.
Nicki Minaj has been entangled in numerous controversies for a prolonged duration, involving subtle spats on social media with emerging female rappers such as Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, among others.
The popular rapper took to her Instagram Story and addressed her undying legion of fans. Minaj urged them not to threaten people online on her behalf, making it clear she has never condoned any sort of threat made to people.
”Dear Barbz. Be sure to never threaten anyone on my behalf. Whether on the internet or in person. Whether in jest, or not. I don’t & never have condoned that. We have an amazing album right around the corner. 12/08/23. It feels so surreal & euphoric. Wishing you blessings on blessings.”
Nicki Minaj made Spotify history earlier this year, something that was not surprising whatsoever. While the exact context prompting Nicki Minaj’s message isn’t really known, her plea to her fanbase seemingly stems from a desire to promote a more positive and respectful atmosphere within her fan community. Regardless, we hope her fans learn to not threaten others on her behalf ever again.
