Soulja Boy spilled the tea during a recent live stream, opening up about how criticism from one of his idols, Snoop Dogg, hit him hard. The rapper shared how Snoop had some not-so-kind words for his 2007 hit, “Crank That,” back in the day, leaving young Soulja Boy feeling crushed.

“I love fckin’ Snoop Dogg, to this day,” Soulja Boy began. “When I first came out, he was like, ‘Crank That? What is that bullsht…'” Those words, coming from someone he looked up to, left a deep impact on him. “N**a, that hurt my fcking soul, I wanted to cry,” he confessed. Imagine being 17 and having your idol call your work trash!

But wait, there’s a twist in the story. Soulja Boy and Snoop Dogg have since buried the hatchet. They met face to face, and Snoop Dogg apologized for his earlier harsh comments. “I met Snoop Dogg in person, and he was like, ‘man, my bad,'” Soulja Boy revealed. Snoop admitted he didn’t quite “understand” the song at first, but eventually, it grew on him.

However, Soulja Boy isn’t one to take shade lightly. When Chinese Kitty dissed his music last month, claiming she was “forced” to listen to it because of her son, Soulja Boy fired back. “Fck all of y’all, man. Y’all always trying to shade me, for what? I ain’t do nothing but show you hes love,” he retorted.
