Francis Ngannou isn’t sending mixed signals about his next move in the boxing world. He’s clear about what he wants, and that’s a rematch with Tyson Fury.
In a conversation with TMZ Sports, Ngannou expressed his desire to face Fury again and is even willing to wait for it, even if it means waiting until Fury fights Oleksandr Usyk first.
Ngannou acknowledged that there was already a contract in place for Fury to face Usyk in December, but due to the cut he opened up on Tyson’s head in their previous fight, the bout had to be rescheduled for sometime in February. Ngannou is open to waiting for that fight to happen before he faces Fury in a rematch, possibly in mid-2024.
When asked about the possibility of fighting Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia on December 28, Ngannou responded that it’s too soon, and his primary focus in boxing right now is the rematch with Tyson Fury.
While Ngannou’s focus is on boxing, he also mentioned other potential future opponents, including Deontay Wilder and Joseph Parker. However, his immediate priority is securing a rematch with Fury, and everything else in the boxing world will have to wait.
It’s worth noting that aside from his boxing aspirations, Francis Ngannou is signed to the Professional Fighters League (PFL) as a fighter and serves as the Chairman of PFL Africa, so he’s keeping busy in the world of mixed martial arts as well.
