Damian Lillard’s Custody Hearing Postponed Indefinitely

Damian Lillard has been one of the top names in the NBA in recent years. He currently plays as a Point Guard for the Milwaukee Bucks and is often known to make headlines for his scintillating plays. However, this time, he is making headlines for a different reason.

The NBA star married his college sweetheart, Kay’La in 2021. After being married for a couple of years, the couple finally separated for a few months before Lillard slammed his soon-to-be ex-wife with divorce citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason.

Kay’La then slammed the NBA star with documents seeking sole custody of their children citing Lillard’s inability to look after them. She also claimed that he relied on nannies, assistants, and other family members.

“It is in the children’s best interests that I be awarded sole custody. I am best positioned to address the ongoing needs of our minor children. I have been responsible for the children’s care since their birth.” She continued, “I understand he is busy and has many commitments he must attend to,” the doting stay-at-home mom stated. “I also understand that the brand ‘Damian Lillard’ needs to continue with an image of a family-man. Despite our separation for several months, I have continued to support that image to the public,”

The custody hearing was set to take place on November 24. However, RadarOnline is reporting that Lillard’s request to postpone the hearing since he is expected to play in Wisconsin against the Washington Wizards was granted by an Oregon judge.

“It is ordered that the motion to postpone the November 24, 2023 show cause hearing date is allowed, hearing date postponed to TBD (to be determined).”

This November 24 hearing was supposed to determine a custody and parenting plan as well as legal fees for Kay’La’s lawyer. The Milwaukee Bucks’ star claimed that he isn’t sure when he will be able to attend another hearing. Fans will hope that his court battles don’t affect his on-court performance.
