Elon Musk Continues to Suffer After Acquiring Twitter

Elon Musk certainly needs no introduction. He might be one of the wealthiest men in the world, but he is not without his fair share of controversies. That being said, he locked himself in an office after being booed at a comedy show.

While speaking on CNBC, “Breaking Twitter” author Ben Mezrich claimed that Elon Musk suffered a mental breakdown amid rumors that his reputation has been getting destroyed while running Twitter.

“He got to a point where he locked himself in his office, was so upset that the Twitter employees were considering calling in a wellness check by the San Francisco police because they thought he was going to self-harm. I think he truly cares about his reputation.”

Mezrich suggested that Musk’s acquisition of Twitter in 2022 marked a turning point in his personality. He claimed that Musk’s mental health declined following a series of negative events in the previous year.

“Twitter broke Elon Musk. Not only did he destroy this sort of global town hall, but he destroyed himself in the process.”

One such incident took place during a Dave Chapelle show in San Francisco last year, where Musk was booed. The comedian joked about Musk’s recent firings, leading to an uncomfortable atmosphere. Musk later took to Twitter to discuss the incident, acknowledging the mix of cheers and boos he received.

 “You weren’t expecting this, were ya?” before joking, “It sounds like some of them people you fired are in the audience,” said Dave Chappelle.

”Technically, it was 90% cheers & 10% boos (except during quiet periods), but, still, that’s a lot of boos, which is a first for me in real life,” said Elon Musk.

Mezrich further claimed on CNBC that Elon Musk was “shocked” by the audience’s reaction, noting, “This never happened to Elon before, and this spiral started.” Regardless, things aren’t going well for Elon Musk right now and it remains to be seen whether that will change one day.
