Zac Efron has opened up about the intense physical preparation he underwent to get into shape for his role in “The Iron Claw,” where he plays the lead character, Kevin Von Erich, in a biographical film about the legendary Von Erich family. The movie is distributed by A24 Studios and also features AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF.
The film premiered in Dallas, Texas, on November 8th, with the stars gracing the red carpet for the event. Speaking to Access Hollywood at the premiere, Efron discussed the rigorous preparation he undertook for the role, emphasizing his commitment to portraying a real-life person as authentically as possible.
“When you’re playing a real person and it’s a true story, there’s an extra bit of motivation to get things as honest and real as possible. And I knew that going into this after watching the footage of Kevin in the ring that the physicality was gonna be the hardest thing to get right. So I started training probably six months before, and it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” Efron explained.
“The Iron Claw” is scheduled to be released on December 22nd in the United States, promising an authentic portrayal of Kevin Von Erich and the iconic Von Erich family’s story.
