Anne Hathaway, the ageless wonder at 41, is crushing it in Hollywood, defying all those naysayers who thought she’d hit a career brick wall at 35. She spilled the tea in a recent chat with Porter Magazine, revealing how she’s managed to stay on top and why her 40s have become her freedom years.
Back in the day, Anne was told her career would nosedive after hitting the big 3-5. But guess what? That cliff never appeared on her career path! She credits it to changing times and the shift in how women are perceived and treated in Tinseltown.
“I was warned that my career would fall off a cliff at the age of 35, which is something I know a lot of women face,” she spilled.
But Anne’s not just basking in her success; she’s keeping it real. “There’s so much to be proud of and there’s so much to fix,” she wisely noted.
So, what’s her secret to staying sane in the cutthroat entertainment biz? Anne Hathaway keeps a tight grip on her image and knows that what you see isn’t always the whole story.
“I’m myself right now, but that doesn’t mean I’m my whole self right now,” she confessed.
Protecting her personal life from the paparazzi circus is something she’s mastered over the years. She believes in being authentic without baring it all for the world to see.
“It’s something I feel is not just essential for my health – I’m on a team, it’s my family, and it’s not just about me,” Anne explained. “My family has needs, and one of the needs of children is that they need to be able to define their own lives.”
Don’t even try to link her career and family life; they’re like two separate galaxies that happen to coexist beautifully through her. Anne’s found her groove in her 40s, where she’s unapologetically herself and knows exactly what she wants.
But it hasn’t always been smooth sailing. Ten years ago, the world gave her flack for being too ambitious, especially after her 2013 Oscar win for Les Misérables. However, she’s not letting the haters dim her ambition.
“I’ve always been really upfront about being an ambitious person,” she declared. “I have goals, I have dreams; they don’t look much different than they did when I was [younger], but I’m still pursuing them.”
And pursue them she shall, as she gears up for her next big role in “Eileen,” a psychological thriller with Thomasin McKenzie. Get ready for the mind-bending journey when it hits theaters on December 1! Anne Hathaway, you keep slaying, girl!
