Logan Paul’s stock continues to rise every time he appears on WWE television and he finally won the United States Championship at WWE Crown Jewel earlier this month. There was also a spot where he saved Mysterio from suffering an injury and now he has opened up about that spot.
Logan Paul squared off against Rey Mysterio for the United States Title at WWE Crown. Paul shocked many people as he beat the WWE Hall of Famer, with some unintended help from Santos Escobar. Therefore, Logan Paul became the new United States Champion.
During the match, Logan Paul caught Mysterio on a springboard moonsault where he fell to his knees in order to catch Mysterio, and would then hit a powerslam. Many people applauded Paull for saving Mysterio as he could have gotten injured very badly.
While speaking on his Impaulsive podcast, Logan Paul talked about his match with Rey Mysterio. Paul stated that he feels he almost killed Mysterio during the match, admitting that both he and Mysterio made a mistake. Regardless, he was glad he saved Mysterio in the end.
“I’m going to come clean because I’ve seen all these positive headlines. ‘Logan saves Rey Mysterio.’ The Mexican community is going crazy, they’re praising me, saying I’m sort of hero.”
“I’m like, ‘Dang, I’m getting recognized for something cool? I’ll take it.’ Then, I looked at the clip, upon assessing my performance, while I think I did save Rey Mysterio.”
“I think I also almost killed Rey Mysterio. I think I was too far back for the move, and I think he didn’t clear enough ground for the move. That’s what happened.”
“I was too far back, he didn’t clear enough ground, we both made a mistake. I had to catch him, I had to catch him.”
“I wasn’t going to not catch him. truthfully, while I like the headlines and I like getting gassed up, I was just doing my job. I’ll take the praise.
“The tough part is when I caught him, I was in like a spider-knee position. I have compromised knees, so maybe they could have snapped.”
Logan Paul also tried to sell off the United States Championship for $100K. It remains to be seen how Logan Paul will be booked as the champion, as he has certainly won the favor of many.
