Nicki Minaj worked tirelessly to establish herself as one of the most accomplished female rappers in the hip-hop industry. She also has her fair share of legal woes, but one of them seems to have ended before it truly began.

According to RadarOnline.com, the security guard who alleged that Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, attacked him backstage at one of her shows faced a setback in court as a Los Angeles Superior Court judge declined to grant Thomas Weidenmuller’s request for a default judgment against Minaj and Petty.

Weidenmuller claimed that the incident went down at Minaj’s concert in Germany in 2019 after a fan breached the security barrier and made her way onto the stage. Following the show, he saw Minaj yelling at a female security guard, and when he intervened, he alleged that Petty hit him in the face.

At first, Weidenmüller advised both of the other two security personnel that they should silently listen to Minaj’s complaints, even if she was screaming obscenities and falsely accusing them of endangering her.

While Minaj screamed obscenities at me, Petty repositioned himself out of my eyesight and without warning struck me in the fact, which stunned and disoriented me. Because of the surprise nature of the attack, I am not sure as to whether Petty hit me with his fist or with a weapon.

In his complaint, Weidenmuller stated that he sought medical attention at a local hospital, claiming his jaw was broken in the alleged attack and that he had undergone multiple surgeries with more to come.

Weidenmuller recently asked the court for a default judgment of $750,000, including $500,000 for pain and suffering, $200,000 for emotional distress, $21,000 for medical expenses, and additional funds for court costs. However, the judge ruled that Weidenmuller had failed to present evidence to support the $21,000 medical expenses claim, citing a lack of authenticated medical bills.

Minaj and Petty have yet to respond to the lawsuit, and the case will continue as the next hearing is set to take place in January next year. We’ll keep you updated on this ongoing lawsuit.
