Shaquille O’Neal is considered a living legend in professional basketball as well as a mainstream star in general. He is truly a giving person, which is why he revamped a court at a Boys & Girls Club in Los Angeles in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, the NBA Hall of Famer refurbished a basketball court at a Boys & Girls Club in Los Angeles as part of the Comebaq Court initiative. This initiative, aimed at fixing courts and fields for kids across the country, is the fifth such project led by Shaq. The refurbished court was officially opened in collaboration with local officials and representatives from Icy Hot, a long-time partner of Shaquille O’Neal.
During the opening event, Shaq expressed his commitment to giving back and helping communities. He mentioned that after noticing the need for refurbishment during a previous visit to the Boys & Girls Club, he asked about the possibility of fixing the court. The result was the Comebaq Court initiative, whose main goal is to provide children with safe and updated recreational spaces.
“I came here one time and I saw the court need to be refurbished,” O’Neal told us on Thursday, adding, “I asked about the refurbish. They told me ‘yes’ and this is the result.”
“If we can help one, if we can help 100, we can help ’em all“
That’s not all as Shaq emphasized the importance of acknowledging the contributions of counselors and volunteers who work tirelessly to support kids. He credited them for their dedication and emphasized their role in making a positive impact on the community.
“Those counselors, the one who volunteers every day, they actually should get most of the credit.
“If you need computers, you need laptops, fresh paint — then you call Uncle Shaq.”
Shaquille O’Neal is truly the gift that keeps on giving and we would like to applaud him for his incredible initiative that certainly helps more underprivileged children in the long run.
