The rap sensation, A$AP Rocky, found himself in the hot seat at a preliminary hearing in Los Angeles on Monday, November 20. The judge’s ruling? He’s headed to trial over a 2021 incident where he’s alleged to have fired a gun at a friend, according to ET reports.
A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, faced the consequences of his actions with an arrest in April 2022, stemming from the same incident. The rapper, not one to back down, entered a plea of not guilty to two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
The incident in question dates back to November 6, 2021, when A$AP Rocky reportedly discharged a firearm at his former buddy, Terell Ephron. Ephron claimed to have suffered minor injuries, including grazed knuckles, from the alleged shooting.
After the smoke cleared from Monday’s hearing, Superior Court Judge M.L. Villar delivered the verdict – the case will indeed proceed to a full-blown criminal trial.
In the midst of these legal battles, A$AP Rocky has been making headlines for other reasons, like his recent talk about launching an F1 collection and his highly publicized relationship with superstar Rihanna. But for now, all eyes are on the impending trial as A$AP Rocky faces the music in a court of law.
