Former NFL star Channing Crowder is setting the record straight, folks! He’s here to tell you that Travis Kelce’s recent gridiron brilliance has absolutely nothing to do with his romance with Taylor Swift.

Now, remember, not too long ago, the Chiefs’ coach spilled the beans that Swift might have an impact on his star player. But Crowder isn’t buying it, and he’s not holding back.

Ever since the world found out about Swift and Kelce’s relationship, all eyes have been on the footballer when he hits the field. The scrutiny has been so intense that some statistics even suggest that whenever the Grammy-winning songstress graces a Kansas City game this season, her man churns out an average of 108 yards per game. On the flip side, when she’s not around, his performance drops to a mere 41.8 yards per game.

But Crowder isn’t swayed by the numbers. The former Miami Dolphins linebacker made his stance clear in a recent interview, stating firmly that Swift hasn’t been pulling the strings for the 34-year-old Kelce. Speaking to TMZ Sports after Kelce’s recent game against the Philadelphia Eagles, where he made four catches for 44 yards in a loss, Crowder didn’t mince words, saying, “He [Kelce] doesn’t hide from attention.”

As for why Kelce hasn’t been at the top of his game lately, Crowder chalks it up to increased defensive focus, especially in the absence of other key offensive weapons for the Chiefs.

Regarding Kelce’s recent musings about retirement, Crowder had some blunt advice, saying, “Once guys start talking about retirement, they might as well retire.” This comes after Kelce openly admitted that retirement has been on his mind a lot lately, a significant change from his earlier statement in June when he expressed his passion for the game.

But it’s not all smooth sailing for Kelce. With eight Pro Bowl selections and a laundry list of surgeries under his belt, the toll on his body may lead to a premature decline.

Meanwhile, Coach Andy Reid has shown some love for the “Taylor Swift effect,” praising the pop star after Kelce’s standout performances. Reid even said, “Taylor can stay around all she wants.” It’s not hard to see why, given Kelce’s stellar stats in her presence, including 31 catches in three games.

But not everyone is buying into the Swift theory. Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling prefers to focus on Kelce’s skills, saying, “You can know what he’s going to run, and you still can’t stop it.” Swift or no Swift, Kelce is a force to be reckoned with on the field!

Do you think there’s any truth to the idea that Taylor Swift’s presence at Kansas City Chiefs games might be affecting Travis Kelce’s performance? Leave us a comment.
