When Sports Icons Clash: Wayne Gretzky and Hulk Hogan’s Christmas Gift Mishap

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan’s contributions to the world of professional wrestling need no introductions, as he singlehandedly became a juggernaut of the industry during the peak of his career. That said, Hogan is no stranger to funny stories over the years. Now a story about him mixing up his gift with Wayne Gretzky has now come to light.

Hulk Hogan is a legendary figure in the world of professional wrestling, with his name being synonymous with the sport. While he has done a lot of questionable things over the years, none of that has erased his importance to all things mainstream due to his insane brand value.

At the peak of their careers, Hulk Hogan was the biggest pro wrestler on the planet while Wayne Gretzky was known as “The Great One” while he was an active hockey player. While speaking on Theo Von’s “This Past Weekend” podcast, Gretzky revealed during one instance of Christmas, due to a valet parking mix-up, Hogan and Gretzky ended up with each other’s cars and each other’s Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve.

”I got a great Hulk Hogan story. People don’t know this, but Hulk used to live in Thousand Oaks, too,” Gretzky began. “It was December 24 and we go to the Thousand Oaks Mall and I’m getting last-minute Christmas gifts for my kids who were at the time 10, 12, and 14. So I put them all in the car and they had valet parking at the mall. So I come out and put all my bags in the car and I drive home.

“I get a call around seven o’clock,” he continued. “[Hulk Hogan] goes, ‘Wayne?’ and I go, ‘Yeah.’ He says, ‘It’s Terry. We got a problem.’ I go, ‘What’s the problem?’ He goes, ‘We we got the same exact car. I’ve got your car and your presents. You got my car and my presents.’ So I go outside and I’m like, ‘Oh my God.’ He goes, ‘Yeah, my kids are older. It’s probably not going to work. I’ll meet you halfway.’ So we drove back halfway together, we switched cars out, got the presents, and went home. True story.”

Hulk Hogan was also called one of the worst actors of all time recently as well. Regardless, such incidents happen all the time and this time around, it just happened to The Hulkster.
