Chris Evans made a name for himself as Captain America/Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. His role as the iconic character came to an end after Avengers: Endgame, but now he has responded to reports of the original Avengers returning in a new film.
Chris Evans has responded to recent reports suggesting that Marvel is contemplating the return of the original six Avengers amid the studio’s recent box office failures. He addressed those rumors in a new interview with The View.
During the interview, when prompted about the report, Evans expressed his surprise and noted that every couple of months, these types of reports always crop up and there is no legitimacy to them at all.
“You know, I always see those reports too, and it’s news to me. I think every couple months, someone says that they’re getting Downey, and [Chris] Hemsworth, and Scarlett [Johansson], and everyone’s coming back!”
No one’s spoken to me about it. And look, I would never say never, but I’m very protective. It’s a very precious role to me, so it would have to be just right.”
Chris Evans’ portrayal of Captain America made the character more popular than ever before, making the character iconic and earning him a dedicated fanbase. Regardless, only time will tell if Evans will reprise his role again in a future film.
