Tony Ferguson is currently one of the top fighters in the UFC, who is known to put on some excellent fights each time he steps into the Octagon. That being said, he was arrested for DUI earlier this year. Thankfully, the charge has been dropped now as they reached a plea deal.
As previously reported, Tony Ferguson was arrested for DUI back in May this year after he crashed the truck into two cars that were parked outside a Hollywood club. Police officers at the scene stated that Ferguson refused to take a field sobriety test and was “very uncooperative” at the scene.
According to MMAJunkie, online court records reveal that the DUI charge against Ferguson has been dismissed, Instead, he has pleaded Nolo Contendere to a reduced charge of wet reckless driving on a highway. As part of the negotiated settlement, Ferguson is now subject to a one-year probation period.
In legal terms, Nolo Contendere means that a defendant in a criminal case accepts a conviction without explicitly admitting guilt. This plea allows for resolution without a formal admission of wrongdoing, providing a middle ground in the legal proceedings. As Ferguson moves forward, the one-year probation will definitely remind him of the incident, so that he never does it again.
