André 3000 made a name for himself as one of the best rappers in the Hip-Hop game right now as he has accomplished a lot in the business so far. Now the rapper has made history in a big way.
The singer dropped his long-awaited solo album ‘New Blue Sun’ on November 17th and fans were simply elated. However, the project took an unexpected turn for those anticipating a return to rap from the renowned artist. From the project’s announcement, Andre had made it clear that this album would be devoid of traditional rap elements.
The resulting masterpiece, titled “New Blue Sun,” is a collection of extensive ambient jazz compositions, showing off his flute-playing skills. Many fans were intrigued enough to give it a listen. The impact was significant, with the opening track, humorously titled “I Swear, I Really Wanted To Make A ‘Rap’ Album, But This Is Literally The Way The Wind Blew Me This Time,” making its debut on the Hot 100 chart this week.
In addition to that, ”I swear” pushes beyond 10 minutes. In its entirety, the song is 12 minutes and 20 seconds, which breaks the record for the longest runtime of any song to ever crack the Hot 100.
