Jamie Foxx is one of the most established actors in all of Hollywood right now. However, he spent the better half of this year incredibly sick, as many worried he was going to die. That said, he is still struggling a lot but still managed to make his first public appearance since his hospitalization. He also fought back tears during the appearance as well.
Foxx became emotional as he accepted the Vanguard award at the Critics Choice Association Awards Celebration of Cinema & Television Honoring Black, Latino & AAPI Achievements on Monday night. This marked his first public appearance since a mysterious “medical complication” in April.
During his acceptance speech, Foxx fought back tears as he expressed gratitude for the overwhelming standing ovation he received from the audience. He shared that six months ago, he couldn’t walk, referencing the health scare he experienced earlier in the year. Addressing rumors about his health, Foxx humorously stated that he was not a clone.
“I’m not a clone, I know a lot of people who were saying I was cloned out there.”
He then thanked everyone for their support and acknowledged the challenging experience he went through, emphasizing the difficulty of facing the possibility of it being “almost over” and seeing the tunnel without the light.
Foxx revealed that he now cherishes every single minute, expressing a newfound respect for life and his art. He encouraged others not to give up on their artistic pursuits, emphasizing the transformative impact of his recent experience on his perspective.
Reflecting on his ordeal, he mentioned going through tough times and not wanting people to see him in a vulnerable state. Foxx highlighted the importance of maintaining a positive image.
“I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie or a television show.”
We continue to give our best to Jamie Foxx and pray that he will eventually be able to make a full recovery after suffering for so many months. After all, fans just want the actor to get back to doing what he does best at full capacity.
