A 49-year-old man was arrested outside Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Coachella Valley, California on October 12, with authorities raising concerns that they may have prevented another assassination attempt.

The man, Vem Miller, a resident of Las Vegas, was stopped at a checkpoint near the event venue, where police discovered illegal weapons in his vehicle.

According to a statement from the Riverside County Sheriff via TMZ, deputies discovered Miller in possession of a shotgun, loaded handgun, and high-capacity magazine. He was taken into custody without incident and later booked for possession of a loaded firearm and possession of a high-capacity magazine. Authorities confirmed that this incident did not threaten the safety of Donald Trump or the attendees at the rally.

Interestingly, Miller was also found with multiple passports under different names and was driving with a falsified license plate, raising suspicions about his intentions. Despite these alarming details, Miller was released on bail, and it’s unclear if federal charges will be filed.

In a statement, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco speculated that his deputies “probably did” prevent a third assassination attempt against the former president. This follows similar incidents earlier this year, including an attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania and an arrest near Trump’s golf course in September.

Although the U.S. Secret Service, FBI, and U.S. Attorney’s Office are aware of the arrest, no federal charges have been made at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.

This alarming arrest raises serious concerns, especially given the past attempts on Donald Trump’s life earlier this year. While the U.S. Secret Service and other federal agencies continue their investigation, many are left wondering how incidents like this could happen multiple times. The good news is that no one was harmed, and law enforcement was able to act quickly in preventing any potential danger.
