Detroit Lions superfan and rap icon Eminem had a blunt response after hearing about star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson’s gruesome leg injury during Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. The rapper took to X/Twitter to express his feelings with a single word: “F–k.”

Hutchinson was carted off the field in the third quarter of the Lions’ dominant 47-9 win at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The NFL sack leader’s left leg was severely injured while attempting to tackle Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, leaving him writhing in pain on the field. The injury was so graphic that Fox Sports chose not to show a replay, with anchors Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady holding back on the visuals.

On Monday morning, the Lions shared that Hutchinson had undergone successful surgery at Baylor White Medical Center in Irving, Texas, to repair a fractured tibia and fibula. While the team confirmed that he is expected to make a full recovery, there’s no timeline for his return just yet.

Eminem’s love for his hometown team is no secret. The rap legend has been vocal about his support, showing up to Lions playoff games and even making an appearance at the 2023 NFL Draft in Detroit. His admiration for Hutchinson was highlighted during an episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks, where he recognized the defensive star from his viral “Billie Jean” performance at the team’s practice facility.

After Sunday’s game, Lions coach Dan Campbell and quarterback Jared Goff reflected on the impact of losing one of their key players. “He’s part of the heartbeat of this team,” Goff said. “To have him go down like that is tough for all of us. He’ll be fine, he’s going to come back eventually, whenever that may be.”

The Lions will move forward without Hutchinson as they face the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, October 20.
