Later this month, Investigation Discovery will release Chris Brown: A History of Violence, a documentary delving into years of allegations against the controversial singer. The program will explore multiple accusations of abuse and sexual assault, including a high-profile claim involving an alleged assault at one of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ yacht parties.
According to reports from The Daily Beast, an anonymous woman alleges that Brown drugged and assaulted her during the event. Describing her experience, she said, “Chris Brown raped me… And I can say that, and I know it for a fact.”
The accuser further alleges that Brown kissed her repeatedly in an attempt to silence her during the assault.
Following the alleged incident, the accuser filed a $20 million lawsuit against Brown. However, the case was dismissed due to inconsistencies in text message records, and her lawyer, Ariel Mitchell, withdrew from the case. Brown responded to the lawsuit by releasing alleged texts and voicemails from the accuser, in which she reportedly spoke positively about their encounter and sought further contact with him.
In addition to anonymous victims, Liziane Gutierrez—another of Brown’s alleged victims—has chosen to participate in the documentary. She shared her reason for coming forward:
“Several women agreed to participate and share their stories. We all went through a similar situation. We can’t be against domestic violence and simply ignore some cases or, even worse, blame the victim.”
Chris Brown: A History of Violence promises to shed light on years of disturbing allegations against Brown, who has repeatedly denied these claims. As the documentary prepares to air, it has reignited conversations about domestic violence and accountability.
