Dax Shepard Roasts Kristen Bell Over Kissing Scene with Adam Brody in Netflix’s ‘Nobody Wants This’

Dax Shepard isn’t shy about poking fun at his wife, Kristen Bell—even when it comes to her on-screen romance with Adam Brody.

During a panel at the New Yorker Film Festival on Saturday, the Armchair Expert podcast host teased Bell for not kissing him the same way she did her co-star in their hit Netflix show Nobody Wants This.

Shepard joked with the audience after being asked about the chemistry he shares with Bell, both romantically and professionally. “Not as good as her and Brody,” Shepard quipped, drawing laughs from the crowd.

He went on to call out a specific kissing scene between Bell and Brody saying, “It was the very best kissing scene ever, ever put on film.” Shepard’s humor didn’t stop there—he revealed that even one of his closest friends commented on the moment.

“And my best friend, Aaron, from childhood, he goes, ‘Does she ever kiss you like that?’ No, I didn’t even know she could kiss like that,” Shepard joked, leaning into his playful jealousy.

Nobody Wants This, which has become a Netflix hit, tells the story of an agnostic podcaster (played by Bell) who falls in love with a single rabbi (played by Brody). The series, loosely inspired by creator Erin Foster’s love story, explores how the two characters navigate their contrasting beliefs and families.

Shepard’s lighthearted jab at Bell highlights the couple’s famously playful dynamic. The duo has often shared humorous moments from their relationship with fans, showing that they don’t take themselves too seriously—even when it involves on-screen smooches with other people.
