Jeremy Allen White is stepping into the shoes of The Boss! The 33-year-old actor, known for his role in The Bear, is taking on the challenge of portraying Bruce Springsteen in the highly anticipated biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere.

The film, based on Warren Zanes’ account of the making of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska, offers a deep dive into the emotional journey that led to one of the most influential records in the singer-songwriter’s career. Production is officially underway, and the movie is slated for release in theaters in 2025.

Director Scott Cooper, who also penned the screenplay, expressed his excitement about bringing this story to life. “Beginning production on this film is an incredibly humbling and thrilling journey,” Cooper said in a statement. “Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska has profoundly shaped my artistic vision. The album’s raw, unvarnished portrayal of life’s trials and resilience resonates deeply with me.”

Cooper explained that the goal of the film is to capture the same authenticity that makes Nebraska so powerful. “Our film aims to bring Warren Zanes’ compelling narrative of Bruce’s life to the screen with authenticity and hope, honoring Bruce’s legacy in a transformative cinematic experience,” he added.

Cooper also shared his excitement about collaborating with Springsteen and longtime manager Jon Landau, saying, “Their creative energy fuels every part of this journey.” Additionally, Cooper noted his reunion with David Greenbaum, the president of Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios, calling it a source of inspiration.

Nebraska is widely regarded as a turning point in Springsteen’s career. Following his 1981 The River Tour, Springsteen retreated to his New Jersey home, where he recorded the stripped-down album on a 4-track recorder—without The E Street Band. The result was a hauntingly intimate collection of songs exploring themes of despair, hope, and human frailty. Though initially underappreciated, Nebraska has since become a cultural landmark, inspiring countless musicians and artists.

The biopic will follow Springsteen during this pivotal period, exploring his creative struggles and personal challenges as he recorded one of his most influential works.

Filming for Deliver Me From Nowhere will take place primarily in New Jersey and New York, with additional production in Los Angeles. The locations will reflect the album’s roots, aiming to bring authenticity to this cinematic retelling of Springsteen’s story.
