Tekashi 6ix9ine has been arrested in New York for violating the terms of his supervised release, stemming from his 2019 racketeering plea deal.

According to court records obtained by XXL, the controversial rapper was taken into custody on Tuesday, October 29, following a warrant issued by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. He is scheduled to be arraigned later this afternoon.

6ix9ine’s legal troubles date back to December 2019, when he was sentenced to two years in prison and five years of supervised release in exchange for his cooperation with authorities. As part of his plea deal, 6ix9ine testified against members of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, a group he had been closely associated with before his arrest in November 2018.

Details regarding the specific violation that led to his latest arrest remain unclear. However, 6ix9ine has found himself in legal trouble multiple times over the past year—most notably during incidents in the Dominican Republic. In October 2023, he was arrested for allegedly assaulting two music producers, though he was later released on a $500,000 bond.

Earlier this year, the rapper was arrested again in the Dominican Republic, this time over domestic abuse allegations from his ex-girlfriend, singer Yailin la Mas Viral. In late August, authorities in the D.R. announced that an international warrant had been issued for 6ix9ine’s arrest, further complicating his legal situation.

XXL has reached out to both 6ix9ine’s attorney and representatives from the Southern District of New York for comment, but no further information has been provided at this time.

With these repeated legal troubles, it remains to be seen what the future holds for 6ix9ine and how this latest violation will affect his supervised release.

What do you think this arrest means for 6ix9ine’s future? Could this jeopardize his career, or will he manage to bounce back once again? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
