Kendra Barkoff Lamy, spokesperson for Janel Grant, has issued a harsh rebuke of Vince McMahon’s latest attempt to break into the entertainment industry. This response follows reports revealing McMahon’s plans to launch an “entertainment hub company” to develop and produce film and TV projects, with several former WWE employees reportedly involved.
Lamy didn’t hold back, stating: “No one who cares about survivors and justice should want to work for or with any company of McMahon’s.” She further accused McMahon of “violent outbursts, sexual deviance, manipulation, and abuse,” calling for him to be held accountable for “the heinous acts he committed against Janel Grant and others at WWE.”
McMahon, who stepped down from WWE amid a federal investigation, is already facing legal challenges. Grant’s lawsuit alleges sexual abuse by McMahon and former WWE executive John Laurinaitis, making the announcement of his new company especially controversial.
Lamy also criticized WWE’s corporate practices. In an interview with Forbes, she addressed the removal of WWE’s sexual harassment policy from its website after June 2022. “WWE has been sued many times for failing to protect employees from sexual misconduct by executives and toxic workplace culture,” she said. Lamy described the missing policy as “outrageous,” arguing that WWE’s lack of transparency is dangerous.
“WWE claims to have improved their workplace environment, yet they have no visible sexual harassment or workplace conduct policies listed on their website,” Lamy added. “This is yet another example of WWE’s carelessness and failure to protect their employees. WWE employees deserve better.”
With McMahon attempting to re-establish himself in the entertainment world, Lamy’s remarks have intensified scrutiny. Whether McMahon’s company can gain traction amidst ongoing controversies remains to be seen.
