Camille Vasquez, the lawyer who represented Johnny Depp in his 2022 defamation trial, is once again setting the record straight about their relationship.
In a recent interview with Extra, Vasquez addressed the persistent rumors that she and Depp were romantically involved, firmly denying any such connection. “Let me just go on the record here: never dated Johnny Depp. Never would date Johnny Depp,” she clarified. “I think he’s a lovely person… He’s not my type.”
Despite the speculation that sparked online during the trial, Vasquez shared that her parents knew the truth all along and never believed the rumors. Interestingly, while she may have spent hours working closely with Depp, Vasquez admitted she’s barely familiar with his work on screen. “Admittedly, never seen him, really, in any film,” she said, adding, “Maybe Chocolat?”
When asked specifically if she’d seen any of Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean movies, Vasquez revealed, “Never to this day. I have not seen him in Pirates.”
Reflecting on her first impressions of the actor, Vasquez admitted she was taken aback by Depp’s unique perspective. “After maybe 30, 40 minutes of speaking with him, I remember having an out-of-body experience and looking at him and thinking, ‘He views the world so differently than I do.’ He definitely uses a different part of his brain. He’s such an artist,” she recalled.
As Vasquez continues to handle high-profile cases, her professional relationship with Depp remains just that—professional.
