Kodak Black is keeping it bold and unfiltered as usual, dedicating a whole verse to Zendaya on his new album, Dieuson Octave.
In his track “Versatile,” Kodak shows off his Disney fandom, confessing a crush he’s had on Zendaya since her early days on Shake It Up. “Tell Zendaya I’d like to meet her,” Kodak raps. “Had crush on her since she was on Shake It Up. Seen her on Disney I think she pretty and she fit me and like her name ‘cuse I’m Z’d up.” For those unfamiliar, “Z’d up” in Kodak’s world refers to being both drunk and high simultaneously.
This isn’t the first time Kodak has voiced his admiration for Zendaya. During a 2022 HipHopDX interview, he mentioned wanting to audition for Shake It Up as a kid, specifically to meet Zendaya. He even teased his acting skills, saying, “I know how to act.” However, Kodak’s boldness isn’t just reserved for Zendaya. In 2019, he publicly expressed interest in Lauren London shortly after the tragic passing of her partner, Nipsey Hussle. His approach, though controversial, stirred reactions across social media as he remarked, “I’ll give her a whole year… [I’ll] be the best man I can be for her.”
Kodak’s mix of boldness and candor continues to be both a blessing and a curse, fueling his rise and sparking debate. As his latest album reveals, he’s never afraid to share his thoughts or dreams, no matter how unexpected.
What do you think of Kodak’s shoutout to Zendaya? Could this be his way of branching into acting, or is it just Kodak being Kodak? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
