Miami Beach has officially severed ties with Diddy, revoking his Key to the City as he faces multiple legal battles and sexual assault lawsuits.
Nine years after he received the honor for his contributions to the music industry and his role in founding the Revolt Music Conference in Miami Beach, city officials have now unanimously voted to strip Diddy of his ceremonial title, according to TMZ.
Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner and commissioners Joe Magazine, David Suarez, Tanya Katzoff Bhatt, and Alex Fernandez led the move in an in-person hearing on Wednesday. The decision will be finalized once the mayor signs off on the resolution, which is expected soon.
This isn’t the first honorary title Diddy has lost. Earlier this year, Miami Beach rescinded October 13 as “Sean Diddy Combs Day” following the release of the Cassie assault video. And in June, Diddy returned New York City’s key after Mayor Eric Adams formally requested its return.
Once a symbol of his achievements, Diddy’s revoked honors come as he battles mounting legal troubles.
