Pamela Anderson is opening up about her decision to leave Hollywood behind and return to her native Canada.

In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, the Baywatch icon explained that the move was part of a journey to reconnect with herself outside of the media’s portrayal. “I wanted to really kind of look at [my] life and remember who [I] was,” she shared, adding that she didn’t want past experiences to define her. “I wanted what I do to define me… all these realizations came to me in the rose garden.”

Anderson left the glitz of Tinseltown for the serene surroundings of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, a few years ago. Reflecting on this decision in Better Homes & Gardens in August, she admitted, “I kind of gave up at some point” and felt she “needed a change.” Anderson explained that she felt “so far removed from the image of who I was,” acknowledging feelings of sadness, loneliness, and misunderstanding.

Despite her past fame, the Barb Wire star revealed that she felt burdened by mistakes and the way the public perceived her. While she didn’t go into detail about those perceived mistakes, Anderson’s move to Canada represents a fresh chapter in her life, one where she’s focusing on personal growth away from the pressures of Hollywood.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
