Cardi B isn’t holding back after Elon Musk dismissed her recent Kamala Harris endorsement as insincere.

Musk labeled the rapper a “puppet” on X/Twitter following her appearance at a Milwaukee rally supporting Harris. Musk’s comment quickly sparked Cardi’s passionate response, where she laid out her personal journey from poverty to success, pushing back against Musk’s suggestion.

“Another puppet who can’t even talk without being fed the words,” Musk commented on a clip of Cardi’s speech. He claimed that “The Kamala campaign has no authenticity or true empathy.”

Unsurprisingly, Cardi wasn’t about to let that slide. She clapped back with a heartfelt reply, saying, “I’m not a puppet Elon…I’m a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their ass off to provide for me! I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of section 8, I’m a product of poverty and I’m a product of what happens when the system is set up against you…But you don’t know nothing about that. You don’t know not one thing about the American struggle…. PS fix my algorithm.”

Cardi’s response highlighted the adversity she’s faced and her passion for social issues that impact underprivileged communities.

During her speech in Milwaukee, Cardi opened up about her previous reservations during the 2020 election, admitting she hadn’t felt fully invested in any candidate until Kamala Harris joined the race. “I did not have faith in any candidates until she joined the race and said the things that I wanted to hear,” Cardi shared, explaining why she’s putting her weight behind the Vice President. She praised Harris’s “passion, compassion, and empathy,” saying that Harris understands the urgent economic struggles facing Americans today.

With both public figures standing firm in their views, Cardi’s clash with Musk has sparked significant online discussion, especially among fans and followers with opinions on both sides.
