It was supposed to be a day of college football excitement, but things took a chaotic turn at Saturday’s Florida Gators-Georgia Bulldogs game in Jacksonville.

Fans packed EverBank Stadium to watch the big rivalry, but a clash in the stands stole the spotlight when police officers got into a violent altercation with a couple of spectators, and it was partly captured on video.

In the shocking footage obtained by Thirsty for News, two police officers are seen pounding on two fans in the crowd, delivering blows with their fists as onlookers scream in disbelief. One distraught woman can be heard frantically yelling at an officer, demanding, “Why are you punching him?” The video, which has quickly gone viral, shows the cops taking things to another level, turning what started as a regular game day scuffle into a brutal encounter.

Witnesses report that after the brawl broke out among the fans, police stepped in to handle the situation—but their response was anything but calm. The officers reportedly restrained multiple fans and escorted them out of the stadium, though it’s still unclear whether any arrests were made or if anyone sustained serious injuries from the incident.

The two fans who bore the brunt of the police action remain unidentified, and there’s no official word on their condition. No confirmation yet on whether they needed medical attention, but it’s safe to say they’ll be feeling those punches for a while.

Following the uproar, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office quickly responded. Their Professional Standards Division released a statement acknowledging the incident and stating that “administrative reviews” have been launched. The department assured the public they’re taking the matter seriously and will investigate exactly what went down in the stands that night.

For the record, the game ended with the Bulldogs taking the victory over the Gators, 34-20—but that score is almost an afterthought given the drama off the field.
