Billie Eilish didn’t hold back when sharing her dismay over the 2024 presidential election results, taking a direct shot at President-elect Donald Trump during her recent concert in Tennessee.
The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, known for her raw and honest performances, paused her show in Nashville on Wednesday to make her thoughts known about Trump’s return to power, labeling him a “convicted predator” who “hates women so, so deeply.”
In a video captured during her performance, Billie admitted she even considered canceling the show altogether after Trump’s shocking victory. “It’s such a privilege that I get to do this with you guys and that we have this in a time like right now,” she told her fans, showcasing the emotional gravity of the moment.
Billie dedicated her hit 2022 song TV, which poignantly references the overturning of Roe v. Wade, to the women in the crowd. “You are safe in this room,” she reassured them, making it clear that she stands in solidarity with those impacted by the political shift.
The Happier Than Ever singer went on to share a personal reflection, recounting how her own “boundaries were crossed” in the past, adding depth to her disdain for Trump’s re-election. “That’s why this hits so hard,” Billie said, connecting her own experiences with the implications of Trump’s return to the presidency.
This isn’t the first time Billie has spoken out about Trump. Just before her Nashville show, she posted on her Instagram Stories, calling the election outcome “a war on women.” She joins a chorus of celebrities who have voiced their outrage over the election, including Cardi B, who posted and swiftly deleted a video taking a swipe at red states.
Trump’s comeback victory marks a historic moment, making him the first president since Grover Cleveland to win non-consecutive terms. Notably, he also becomes the first convicted felon to be elected president, adding even more controversy to his upcoming inauguration in January.
