Beyoncé’s record-breaking year continues to make waves as she sets a new milestone with her 2025 Grammy nominations. After a monumental start to the year with the release of her eighth studio album, COWBOY CARTER, and the conclusion of her history-making Renaissance tour, the superstar’s reign has reached new heights. Adding to her achievements, Beyoncé launched her own whiskey brand, SirDavis, which has quickly gained acclaim and commercial success.
According to Billboard, Beyoncé has received 11 Grammy nominations, the highest number in a single year for a female artist. This breaks her own previous record of 10 nominations, which she shared with Lauryn Hill. Hill received 10 nominations at the 1999 Grammys, while Beyoncé matched that number at the 2010 ceremony. This year, she’s in contention for major awards, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance, among others.
Despite her success, Beyoncé’s 2025 award season has been met with mixed emotions. The icon was notably overlooked at both the People’s Choice Country Awards (PCCAs) and the Country Music Awards (CMAs), failing to secure nominations despite COWBOY CARTER’s success and being up for 17 awards at the PCCAs, where she ultimately left empty-handed. The snubs have sparked discussions about genre boundaries and recognition within the industry.
Country music legend Dolly Parton offered her perspective on the matter in an interview with Variety, suggesting that the CMAs likely wanted to prioritize artists dedicated solely to the genre. “There’s so many wonderful country artists that, I guess probably the country music field, they probably thought, well, we can’t really leave out some of the ones that spend their whole life doing that,” Parton remarked.
As Beyoncé continues to break barriers and redefine her career, her latest Grammy nominations solidify her position as one of the most influential and celebrated artists of her generation.
