Diddy is once again in the spotlight for legal trouble, as fresh allegations emerge linking him to an incident from 1996.

According to legal documents obtained by AllHipHop, the Bad Boy Records founder is being sued for $5 million by DeWitt Gilmore, who claims he was attacked by Diddy and his associates in New York.

In his filing, Gilmore alleges that the confrontation began after he left a club with friends. He says Diddy and his entourage pulled up in a convertible, taunting him with “derogatory language” and escalating the situation with violent threats. The encounter allegedly took a dangerous turn when Diddy’s associates surrounded Gilmore’s vehicle and brandished firearms, ultimately firing shots at him. Gilmore managed to drive away, but not before a harrowing car chase ensued.

“The encounter rapidly intensified as Defendant Combs’ bodyguard and additional vehicles carrying armed associates joined to form an entourage, surrounding Plaintiff’s vehicle,” the lawsuit states. “Defendant Combs and his associates blocked Plaintiff’s car, creating a sense of immediate danger. Defendant Combs’ associates brandished firearms and shots were fired. Fearing for his life, Plaintiff Gilmore, with Lance Calfe and Rico as witnesses, were aggressively chased through the dark city streets and managed to evade the scene by accelerating through traffic, narrowly escaping a potentially deadly ambush.”

Gilmore claims that he refrained from pressing charges at the time due to fear of retaliation. However, after reconnecting with Lance Calfe, who was present during the alleged incident, Gilmore says he uncovered new insights and testimonial evidence that compelled him to file the lawsuit decades later.

Diddy has faced several legal challenges recently, but this particular claim, if proven true, could have significant repercussions. The lawsuit adds yet another layer of complexity to his legal battles, raising questions about past incidents and accountability.
