The Resident Evil community has been buzzing with excitement as rumors of Resident Evil 9 gained traction online. Just a few days ago, a wave of details emerged about the game’s storyline, characters, gameplay mechanics, and more, sparking intense discussion among fans. Some speculated that this information dump was a hint at an imminent reveal and a potential 2025 release. However, it seems that these rumors may not hold water.

Renowned Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem has stepped forward to debunk the latest claims. “I’ve been asked multiple times in multiple places about that Resident Evil 9 rumor floating around about the hospital/goatman stalker thing, was also emailed about it too months ago. It’s fake as far as I know,” Dusk Golem shared. This statement puts a serious dent in the credibility of the circulating rumors.

Dusk Golem went on to clarify, “I at present don’t know what the delay to Resident Evil 9’s development has changed about Resident Evil 9 at present, so for now I’m working with outdated information. But both that doesn’t sound like the Resident Evil 9 I know, I doubt it turned into that with the delay, and it reeks of BS to me.” While Dusk Golem has missed the mark on some past predictions, they have generally been a trusted source for Resident Evil updates, giving fans reason to believe this rumor is indeed false.

Rumors are a common part of the pre-release landscape, and Resident Evil enthusiasts are no strangers to sifting through what’s real and what’s wishful thinking. For now, though, it seems any hope sparked by the recent “hospital/goatman” story should be tempered.

Capcom has remained silent on all these whispers, as expected. With the company known for keeping its cards close to the chest, official confirmation or denial seems unlikely in the near future. If Capcom does choose to break its silence, you can count on us to provide the latest updates.
