Happy Gilmore fans, rejoice! Another beloved character from the original 1996 comedy is officially back on set for the highly anticipated sequel. The cast for Happy Gilmore 2 is shaping up, blending nostalgic favorites with new additions.
New photos from Saturday (November 9) showcase Adam Sandler on set in Kearny, New Jersey, alongside none other than Ben Stiller. If you remember, Ben played the hilariously antagonistic nursing home orderly, Hal L., in the first film. And from the looks of it, Hal is back in action!
In the on-set images obtained by People, Stiller is seen in full character, wearing a black vest over a blue button-up shirt, complete with an oversized belt buckle and nametag. For those high-action moments, a stunt double was also spotted alongside him.
While the plot of Happy Gilmore 2 is still under wraps, Sandler teased some details on the New Heights podcast. “The movie itself picks up from an older guy who played golf a long time,” Sandler revealed. “Some stuff goes on in his life, and he’s different — he’s a bit of a mess. Then we try to get his life cooking again.”
The sequel is currently in development with Netflix, but a release date has yet to be confirmed. Fans can’t wait to see how this next chapter unfolds, especially with the return of memorable characters like Hal L. adding to the excitement.
