Former Malcolm in the Middle star and now full-time NASCAR driver Frankie Muniz had a dramatic moment at Friday’s Craftsman Truck Series Championship at the Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. A video obtained by Thirsty for News showed the 38-year-old limping and hobbling into an ambulance after a serious crash during the race.

Muniz later spoke to reporters, confirming he was okay and sharing details about the “unfortunate” wreck. “There was nowhere for me to go. I got hit from behind,” he said. “I got hit from behind into the 42 … and the 18 was right there stopped. I went right into him.”

Despite the crash, Muniz kept a positive outlook, expressing gratitude for his team and the learning experience. “I felt like I got a good opportunity to run with some guys, I made some passes,” he explained. “Lost a few spots on restarts, then went back out and passed them again. So it was good for me to figure out how to get by people, you know I haven’t really gotten to do that much this year so that was really positive.”

Muniz also made it clear that this setback hasn’t dimmed his enthusiasm for racing. The actor-turned-driver confirmed he’ll be back on the track next season, already gearing up for a better performance. “We’re going to be better next year and I got the whole off-season to prepare and we’re going to go get it,” Muniz added with determination.

While Muniz rose to fame as the lead in Malcolm in the Middle from 2000 to 2006, he’s been carving out a new path in motorsports. He made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut earlier this year and has shown that his passion for racing is here to stay.
