Kid Rock didn’t hold back in showing his excitement for Donald Trump’s re-election victory, celebrating in true Kid Rock style.
The rocker took to Instagram with a bold video showcasing him in full stage persona, dressed in a vivid red tracksuit and a MAGA hat, cigar in hand, set to his song “American Rock ‘n Roll.” The video featured clips of Trump and ended with Kid Rock dropping a mic, grabbing his crotch, and flipping off the camera.
But in an unexpected twist, Kid Rock dropped the act and spoke to his fans as Robert Ritchie, his real-life self. Breaking character, he called for Americans to put aside their differences and find common ground. “We must remember that most of our left-leaning friends are good people who want the same things in life as we do but simply think differently on how to get there,” Ritchie said, striking a surprisingly conciliatory tone.
The musician’s message of unity comes after a previous video in which he expressed support for artists like Eminem and Taylor Swift, despite their contrasting political views. “We may not agree on everything, but respect and love for one another is key,” Kid Rock said in a prior post. His bond with Eminem, rooted in their shared Michigan roots and mutual love for the Detroit Lions, has stood the test of political differences, with Eminem even responding that their shared passion for the Lions keeps them connected.
Kid Rock’s appeal for understanding highlights his desire to cool down the heated discourse that has characterized American politics, especially as the nation grapples with ongoing divisions.
