Laura Prepon and Ben Foster are heading for divorce after more than six years of marriage.
According to court documents obtained by Thirsty for News on Tuesday, Foster filed the petition in Nashville, where the couple has lived with their two children for the past two years.
The actor cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation and listed September 9 as both the date of separation and the date he filed for divorce. Foster’s filing also requested that the court divide their marital assets and debts equitably, in line with the prenuptial agreement the couple signed when they married in New York City in May 2018.
The documents reveal that Foster expects he and Prepon to agree on a Marital Dissolution Agreement and a Parenting Plan for their two children — 7-year-old daughter Ella and their 4-year-old son, who is identified by the initial “A” in the paperwork.
Although representatives for the couple have yet to comment, sources told TMZ, which first reported the story, that Foster is now living in Los Angeles.
Prepon and Foster’s relationship began after being introduced by Prepon’s That ’70s Show co-star, Danny Masterson. The couple made their relationship public in the summer of 2016 and debuted on the red carpet together in October of that year, announcing their engagement at the same time.
In January 2017, news broke of Prepon’s first pregnancy, and she later revealed in June that they were expecting a baby girl, whom they welcomed the following month. The pair tied the knot in June 2018, and in October 2019, Prepon shared that they were expanding their family. Their son was born in February 2020.
As the two move forward with their divorce, fans are left reflecting on their years as a couple and wishing them the best as they navigate this next chapter.
