Tekashi 6ix9ine’s future in the spotlight could be in jeopardy as the embattled rapper faces stringent new probation conditions.
Following his arrest for violating probation just a few weeks ago, the controversial artist—real name Daniel Hernandez—was hit with a slew of new rules that could force him to rethink his career moves.
For those catching up, 6ix9ine spent approximately 45 days behind bars for a series of probation breaches, including unauthorized travel from Florida to Las Vegas, failing drug tests, and getting into physical altercations. These violations came during his supervised release following a two-year sentence related to the RICO case involving the Nine Trey Bloods. The sentence had been significantly reduced after he cooperated with authorities, a move that famously spared him decades in prison.
Now, Judge Paul Engelmayer has extended his probation by an additional year, complete with electronic monitoring and home confinement. But that’s not all: court documents reportedly obtained by AllHipHop outline new, strict conditions laid down on Thursday (November 14). Among them, 6ix9ine must secure full-time lawful employment unless his probation officer excuses him, and he is required to report any job changes immediately. Additionally, any changes to his living arrangements must be approved and reported with a ten-day notice.
The conditions don’t stop there. The 28-year-old rapper is barred from associating with individuals involved in criminal activity or with felony convictions unless approved by his probation officer. He also cannot own weapons of any kind and must inform his probation officer within 72 hours of any encounters with law enforcement. On the mental health front, 6ix9ine must participate in an outpatient program and take any prescribed medications unless otherwise directed by a healthcare provider. Plus, his P.O. now has the right to access his financial records upon request.
In a push to meet the court’s expectations, 6ix9ine must also complete 300 hours of community service at least 30 days before the end of his supervised release. After the first 90 days of this period, all out-of-district travel must be approved in advance, and he must surrender his passport and refrain from applying for new travel documents or international travel.
As part of his ongoing compliance, the rapper will also undergo regular drug testing and participate in an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment program.
These stringent conditions may raise questions about whether 6ix9ine will have to pause or even hang up his music career to comply with the terms. Between restrictions on travel, employment obligations, and continuous monitoring, keeping up his public persona and musical projects could prove challenging.
Do you think 6ix9ine will be able to navigate these conditions while continuing his career, or will these probation rules push him to take a break from the music industry? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
