Boxing fans were still buzzing after the fierce rematch between Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor when Serrano took to social media to clear up her post-fight comments.

The highly anticipated bout on Friday night ended with Serrano sporting a nasty cut over her right eyebrow and a controversial loss. Despite accusations of intentional head butts during the fight, Serrano is now walking back her remarks.

In an emotional post on Twitter, Serrano congratulated Taylor on her victory, admitting that heated moments can cloud judgment. “Congratulations to @KatieTaylor in her decision win. Tempers are flared when you’re in the heat of battle & you say things you shouldn’t say. I’m not one to ever disrespect an opponent & these were never my intentions to Katie,” Serrano wrote. She emphasized that she and Taylor have mutual respect outside the ring and called their rivalry the pinnacle of competition, saying, “She & I are cool outside the ring and the best dance partners in the ring.”

Clarifying her earlier statement where she hinted that Taylor’s head butts were intentional, Serrano expressed regret. “In no way should I ever had said she did it purposely, it’s her style that makes for them,” she explained.

Serrano owned up to her humanity, adding, “I’m not perfect and tho I try my hardest to be the nicest person I can be I’m human & being emotionally hurt can sometimes misguide you in what you say.”

Despite the bruises, cuts, and emotional toll, Serrano assured her fans that she’s fine and still counting her blessings. “I’m ok, I’m healthy, a bit bruised and cut but still blessed beyond belief. We both came out with our health intact & that’s what I prayed for.” And for those hoping for another epic showdown, she offered a glimmer of hope, stating, “Whenever our teams can agree on a Trilogy I’ll be ready.”

She ended her heartfelt message by celebrating the sport itself, saying, “I hope you guys all enjoyed women’s boxing at its highest level 🙏❤️.”
