Mike Tyson might have taken an “L” on Saturday night in his epic showdown against Jake Paul, but the boxing legend isn’t walking away empty-handed.

Less than 24 hours after the highly publicized bout at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Tyson took to X/Twitter to share his thoughts. And while fans might be divided over the outcome, “Iron” Mike is all about gratitude and resilience.

Tyson’s comeback story isn’t just about trading punches—it’s about battling back from a near-death experience. The 58-year-old revealed that back in June, he was fighting a health crisis that required eight blood transfusions and led to a shocking 25-pound weight loss. “Just participating in the brawl felt like victory,” Tyson said, emphasizing that getting back in the ring was already a monumental achievement. For him, it was more than just a fight—it was a testament to his iron will.

“I’m proud my children got to see me go toe-to-toe with a talented fighter half my age,” Tyson shared, noting that stepping into the ring in front of a roaring crowd of over 70,000 was an experience beyond what most could ever dream.

Despite looking shaky after a few two-minute rounds and Jake admitting he eased up to avoid hurting him, Tyson stood tall, and that’s what mattered most to the former champ.

Flashback to May, Tyson recounted a terrifying moment when he passed out on a flight from Miami to L.A. and woke up vomiting blood. The emergency led to an 11-day hospital stay where he survived on only liquids. For most, such a scare would be a clear sign to pull out of a major fight. But Tyson? He pushed through, and both he and Jake agreed to delay the bout until he was ready.

Jake Paul also chimed in post-fight, responding to Tyson’s reflections with admiration. “It was an honor to fight him,” Paul tweeted, calling Tyson “an inspiration.” Despite the loss, Tyson is treating this fight like a win—one that’s as sweet as any of his past victories.
