Get ready, Wizards of Waverly Place fans! Selena Gomez is making a magical comeback.

The 32-year-old star, who captured hearts as Alex Russo on the original Disney Channel series, just confirmed that she’ll be reprising her iconic role in the season finale of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

Selena, who also serves as an executive producer for the hit series, last graced the show during its pilot episode, helping introduce a new generation of young wizards. Fans were left wondering if Gomez would ever return due to her packed schedule, but the star put the speculation to rest with a heartfelt social media post.

“NOTHING will ever beat making little kids laugh… thank you @disneywizardsseries for making the little girl in me so happy!! Hope you guys watch!! 💜🪄,” Selena shared on Instagram, alongside a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos from filming.

Adding to the excitement, Selena teased the title of the highly-anticipated episode, “Nigh Is Now!”, in her Instagram Story. The finale was penned by showrunners Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, with Andy Fickman stepping back into the director’s chair after his successful work on the pilot and other episodes earlier in the season.

“Hope you guys have been watching on Disney+ cause….” she teased, ensuring that longtime fans and newcomers alike would mark their calendars for the special episode.

In related news, the showrunners recently addressed criticism over the absence of original series characters, hinting that two more beloved actors are set to reprise their roles soon. Looks like the nostalgia train is far from over!
