Taylor Lautner has thrown it back to the Twilight era, and fans can’t get enough of it! The actor, known for his role as the brooding werewolf Jacob Black, took to TikTok on Saturday to jump into a viral trend that’s making waves.

The trend involves people making bold claims only to act shocked when the camera flips on them. Lautner’s twist? Revisiting the iconic scene from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1, where Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) ties the knot with her vampire soulmate Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson).

With the wedding scene playing on a flat-screen TV, Lautner cheekily wrote over the video, “Honestly screw Edward. Bella should have ended up with Jacob.”

Moments later, he flipped the camera on himself, pretending to look horrified with the playful caption, “oh no no no.” The TikTok set Twilight fans ablaze, with one commenter saying, “HE WON THIS TREND.” Another chimed in, “This made my year,” while a third simply shouted, “TAYLOR,” prompting Lautner to reply, “IT WAS A MISTAKE.”

The 32-year-old actor’s post brought a flood of nostalgia for the Twilight fandom, reigniting the long-standing debate between Team Edward and Team Jacob.

Lautner first took on the role of Jacob Black in 2008, battling for Bella’s heart throughout the saga while competing with Edward’s undying love. The rivalry between the two characters was the backbone of many intense scenes, capturing the hearts of fans worldwide.

Reflecting on the Twilight days during a December 2023 episode of Call Her Daddy, Lautner admitted, “I think it was awkward at times for the two of us to be standing together on a balcony and having 10,000 girls booing Rob but then cheering for me, but then this half, you know, booing me and cheering [for Rob], but then us having to have some sort of friendship. It was difficult.”

While Lautner and Pattinson never forged a deep friendship, Lautner was quick to praise his co-star, calling Pattinson “fantastic” and “the sweetest person ever.”

So, what do you think—did Bella make the right choice, or was Jacob the one that got away? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
