Cardi B’s Long-Awaited Second Album Delayed Again

Cardi B is once again keeping her fans on edge, as the wait for her sophomore album just got a little longer.

The WAP hitmaker took to Instagram Live on Sunday night (November 17), giving yet another update on the long-anticipated follow-up to her 2018 debut, Invasion of Privacy. Despite earlier promises that her new album would drop this year, Cardi revealed that it’s now slated for 2025.

“I’ve been feeling so emotional lately,” Cardi confessed during her live stream. “Because I know next year is going to be my fing year. This has been the most weirdest year I have ever experienced. I don’t know what the fk happened this year, I can’t even tell you.”

She opened up about her tumultuous year, from love and divorce to life changes that left her feeling out of control. “I’m going through a very different transition in my fing life and life is moving a little bit too fast. I don’t want to crash. I have to get my st together,” Cardi shared.

In the same breath, Cardi B promised more than just new music in 2025. “Next year, my album will be out, my secret businesses will be out. I can’t tell you what I’m working on. Hopefully next year I get me a little boyfriend. I’m h*e-less right now. I gotta get my s**t together.”

Fans who’ve been eagerly waiting for six years are finding it hard to stay excited with yet another pushback. Cardi herself admitted that she’s been distracted by partying this year, adding that she plans to slow down and get refocused. “I take my music so f***ing seriously that that’s why I don’t put it out,” she told Rolling Stone earlier this year, highlighting her perfectionism as a reason for the delays.
