Jay Leno is back in the spotlight after surviving yet another harrowing accident. The former Tonight Show host recently revealed that he took a terrifying 60-foot tumble down a steep hill on his way to dinner before a performance in Pittsburgh. Speaking to Inside Edition, the 74-year-old opened up about the incident and his resulting injuries.

“I’m a little beat up,” Leno admitted. “Fell 60 feet—boom, boom, boom, boom.” The comedy legend broke his wrist, “lost my nail on the finger,” and ended up with a swollen eye after one of the rocks hit him square in the face, necessitating an eye patch.

Despite the injuries, Leno, known for his resilience, checked himself out in the restaurant bathroom and still made it on stage for his show, promising to follow up with a doctor afterward.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first brush with danger for Leno. In November 2022, he was burned in a gasoline fire while working on one of his classic cars. “The fuel line was clogged, so I was underneath it… and then suddenly, boom, I got a face full of gas, and then the pilot light jumped, and my face caught on fire,” he recounted on Today.

Adding to the list, Leno broke his collarbone, ribs, and cracked his kneecaps in January 2023 after being knocked off his motorcycle by a wire strung across a parking lot. “It just clothesline me and, boom, knocked me off the bike. The bike kept going, and you know how that works out,” he told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Despite the bumps and bruises, Leno’s dedication to comedy and performing has remained unwavering, proving he’s as tough as they come.
