Kendrick Lamar fans, get ready for some serious buzz. While the Compton rap king has kept details of his new album under wraps, a recent livestream from DJ Snake has sent speculation into overdrive. On November 19, the hit-making DJ dropped a tantalizing hint that Taylor Swift could be featured on Lamar’s upcoming project.

During his live stream, DJ Snake claimed he had an inside scoop on Kendrick’s recording sessions. While he stayed tight-lipped about most details, he did let slip that the Taylor Swift would make an appearance on the album. He even punctuated the reveal with a playful “world premiere,” knowing the kind of frenzy this news would spark. And while a Kendrick-Taylor collab might sound unexpected, fans know there’s history.

The two artists already struck gold with their 2013 remix of “Bad Blood,” which scored Lamar his first number-one hit. Plus, Kendrick has worked with Jack Antonoff, one of Taylor’s go-to producers, on tracks like “6:16 In L.A.”

Some are speculating this move could be Kendrick’s way of sending a subtle message to Drake. The 6 God famously threw shade at Kendrick’s mainstream features with artists like Maroon 5 and Taylor. “Maroon 5 need a verse, you better make it witty. Then we need a verse for the Swifties. Top say drop, you better drop and give ‘em 50,” Drake rapped in “Push Ups.” He even doubled down with a mention in “Taylor Made Freestyle.”

But whatever the motive, Taylor’s admiration for Kendrick’s talent is well-documented. In 2023, she reflected on their “Bad Blood” collab in an Instagram tribute: “Watching @kendricklamar create and record his verses on the Bad Blood remix was one of the most inspiring experiences of my life. I still look back on this collaboration with so much pride and gratitude, for the ways Kendrick elevated the song.”

So, is DJ Snake’s tease legit? Fans will have to wait and see, but if true, this could be the collab of the year.
