Peyton Manning just reminded everyone why he’s one of the funniest legends in football—this time, at the expense of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. The former NFL quarterback dropped a zinger during Wednesday night’s Country Music Association Awards, and Cowboys Nation might still be recovering.

While co-hosting alongside Lainey Wilson and Luke Bryan, Manning took a playful shot at Jones during the opening monologue. As Wilson introduced Kelsea Ballerini to the stage, she referenced her hit song with Noah Kahan, Cowboys Cry Too.

Cue Manning, who couldn’t resist the setup: “Uh, but enough about Jerry Jones!” he quipped into his mic.

The crowd initially groaned before erupting into laughter, clearly eating up Manning’s joke. The Dallas Cowboys, after all, are sitting at a lackluster 3-7 record this season, making the jab hit a little too close to home for some fans.

Not everyone in the audience was laughing. Post Malone, a die-hard Cowboys fan, opened the CMAs with a performance while rocking Dallas Cowboys in-ear monitors. Safe to say, he might have preferred a less brutal joke from Manning while on stage.

Still, Manning’s quip was all in good fun—award shows are known for their no-holds-barred monologues, and Jerry Jones’ high-profile status made him a perfect target.

The Cowboys’ 2024-25 season has been rough, and with playoff hopes all but gone, fans are already looking to next year. Hopefully, by the time the 2025 CMAs roll around, Jerry Jones will have fewer reasons to cry—and Peyton Manning will have moved on to another NFL target.

What do you think about Peyton Manning’s jab at Jerry Jones? Was it all in good fun, or did he cross the line? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
