Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson brought his family and some serious dance moves to the world premiere of “Moana 2” at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Oahu, Hawaii, on Thursday night. And the highlight? A heartwarming dance with his mom, Ata Johnson, that had everyone talking.

In a clip shared by Disney Animation, Dwayne stood by proudly as Ata gracefully moved her hands and swayed to the music, serenaded by a group of singers. Not one to be outdone, The Rock ripped off his blazer, let out a signature Maui screech, and joined his mom on the dance floor. The duo grooved together before Dwayne hugged Ata and planted a sweet kiss on her cheek, melting hearts everywhere.

The premiere was a star-studded event, with appearances from WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes, Auli’i Cravalho (the original voice of Moana), and even Mickey Mouse himself. The Rock made it a true family affair, bringing along his wife, Lauren Hashian, and their daughters to celebrate his return as the beloved Maui.

This magical evening comes amid a flurry of Moana excitement in Hawaii, with Disney also shooting the live-action remake of the original film nearby. Dwayne, always the entertainer, made sure to remind fans why he’s the ultimate family man—and why Maui is one of his most iconic roles.
